The DISA CAP Process

As government agencies move to the cloud, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) released a guide called the Cloud Connection Process Guide to help agencies link to commercial cloud providers through connections known as cloud access points (CAP). Navigating this process is extremely complex and time consuming, however, we have developed our own workflow for helping agencies get through this cumbersome process.

Our workflow includes the following milestones to successfully connect an agency to the cloud:

01.

Baseline Environmental Assessment

02.

Completing AAMBO submission process

03.

ReviewDevelop As-Is Environment Operational Analysis Model

04.

Develop As-Is Cost Model

05.

Perform Detail Cost Benefit Analysis of Alternatives

06.

Work with selected CSP on architecting chosen alternative

07.

Develop Cloud Access Point (CAP) Request Package

08.

Design DataApplication Migration Plan
